En français, est-ce que christening signifie la même chose que naître ? En anglais, christening signifie la même chose que baptiser.

La raison pour laquelle je pose la question est que dans ce document compris en anglais, il est dit que le baptême a eu lieu à deux jours différents ? J'ai contacté l'auteur qui a dit que christening signifie naître.

Hello,

In French, does christening mean the same as birth? In English christening means the same as baptism.

The reason I ask is because in this record understood in English, it says that christening/baptism occurred on two different days? I contacted the author who said christening means birth.

Le document est toujours ambigu. Il contient désormais la date du 31 décembre 1916 dans le champ « Bapt./Source : » sans aucune explication quant à la date de naissance, ce qui donne toujours l'impression que le baptême a eu lieu à deux jours (et années) différents.

You are right. I have written to the owner of this record to suggest a better correction.
 

Sorry to bother you again about this. Now the record is back to how it was originally with Christening/Baptism on two different days.

For MY records, I will just assume birth on the earlier date and baptism on the later date.
