She was born and educated in Chicopee, the daughter of the late John B. and Aurore (Jussaume) Fontaine and was a graduate of Chicopee High School Class of 1936. Pearl attended the University of Connecticut studying in the business field. During WW II, Pearl became employed at the former Chicopee Ordnance. She also was employed for over five years at the former Holyoke Steiger's Cosmetic Department, a position which she relished and had many fond memories. In the late 1960's Pearl retired from the former Holyoke Wire and Cable Company's Supply Department where she worked for over 11 years. She was a member of the Springfield Golden Agers and longtime parishioner of Holy Name Church Springfield, and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church of Willimansett. Pearl was the devoted wife of 52 years to the late Robert A. Lantaigne who died in 1994
