DEATH OF MRS. ANGUS LALONDE. An old resident of the town, Mrs. Lalonde, wife of Mr. Angus Lalonde, who resides on Montreal Road, passed away at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Friday last, having suffered a stroke of paralysis a few days previously. The deceased was born in Williamstown 72 years ago, and was a daughter of the late Ranald McDonald, her maiden name being Margaret McDonald. She had resided in Cornwall for many years and had made many friends, who regret her death and extend their sympathy to the bereaved husband and five sons – Messrs, James and Alfred Lalonde, Cornwall; Pte. George Lalonde, who went overseas with the 253rd Battalion; Mr. Frank P. Lalonde, of Toronto; Pte. Jos. Lalonde, formerly of the staff of the Cornwall Standard, who went overseas with the 59th Battalion, Another son, Pte. Paul Lalonde, was killed in action in France on April 13th, 1916. The funeral took place on Sunday morning to the Church of the Nativity and St. Columban’s Cemetery, the Requiem Mass being celebrated by Rev. D. Macdonald. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Moses Leger, Louis Lavigne, George Letray and Moses Leger, jr. Among the relatives present from a distance were Mrs. Philip Lalonde, sister-in-law, and Mr. Donald John Lalonde, nephew, of East Lancaster; and Frank P. Lalonde son of Toronto.
