Biographie Bourque Jean

Jean arrived in Québec, QC on 23 June 1755 on board of the warship Le Léop ard. He was soldier in the 2nd battalion of the Régiment de Guyenne. He w as in the fusiliers company of Captain Louis Preyssac de Bonneau. He was part of all the major battle fought for the defence of New France in t he Seven Years War, incluing the famous battle of William Henry (3-9 Augu st 1757), the battle of Carillon (8 July 1758), the battle of the Plains of Abraham (13 September 1759) and the battle of Ste-Foy (28 April 1760 ).
After the capitulation of Montréal QC, Jean managed to escape the British and went to see the nice looking Françoise which he had met when his regiment stayed the winter in St-Ours and others villages along the Richeli eu river.

Jean Buch dit St-Roch dit Bronze and Marie-Françoise Piché dit Dupré.
She died in St-Denis-sur-Richelieu on October 6, 1824.
Marriage: February 15, 1762 at St-Ours-sur-Richelieu. The day before, t he "curé" or parish priest did write a marriage contract for them. That priest, François D'Youville was the son of
Marguerite d'Youville de la Jemmerais, founder of the sisterhood of the Nuns of Charity, best known as the Greys Nuns.
Two years later, Jean and Marie-Françoise, not completely satisfied with their first marriage contract, decided to get another one, this time with a notary. Here are those contracts dates :

1st Marriage contract : February 14, 1762 at St-Ours-sur-Richelieu writting by
François d'Youville, "curé" priest of the parish La Conception at St-Ours.

2nd Marriage contract : December 3, 1764 at Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu by t he notary
Louis-Léonard Aumusson de Courville
