Biographie Armstrong James
James Armstrong
Born About 1812 Co. Cavan, Ireland [Find all individuals with events at this location]
In an interview for an Ottawa Citizen article (15 Dec 1903), James Armstrong claimed to have been born Aug 29, 1804. However, as Bruce Elliott points out, "this appears unlikely, given his age in earlier records." In census records, for example, his year of birth is recorded as 1811 (1871 census), 1812 (1881 census) and 1815 (1891 census). [1]
